Uganda Airlines has reached a major milestone as CEO Jenifer Bamuturaki announced that the airline has successfully secured a foreign operator’s permit for London. This development marks a significant step in the national carrier’s expansion strategy, positioning it for enhanced international connectivity.

“Securing this permit is a testament to our commitment to expanding Uganda Airlines’ global footprint and providing passengers with more travel options. Our next steps involve fine-tuning our schedules and optimizing our fleet to ensure seamless operations on our new routes,” Bamuturaki stated.

The addition of a London route aligns with Uganda Airlines’ broader strategy to connect Entebbe to key international destinations, enhancing business and tourism opportunities for the country. Currently, the airline operates a fleet of Airbus A330-800neo and Bombardier CRJ900 aircraft, and further adjustments may be made to meet the demands of the long-haul market.

Industry experts view this expansion as a positive move for Uganda’s aviation sector, offering travelers more direct options while boosting trade and tourism. The airline’s progress towards launching London flights is expected to generate economic benefits and elevate Uganda’s position in global air travel.

As Uganda Airlines finalizes the logistics for its new route, further announcements regarding flight schedules and ticketing details are anticipated in the coming months. Travelers eager to fly directly between Uganda and the United Kingdom will soon have a new, convenient option, further strengthening ties between the two nations.
