Leading French and Spanish media influencers have arrived in Kampala for a week-long visit aimed at experiencing Uganda’s extraordinary attractions firsthand. This initiative seeks to enhance the country’s visibility in key European markets and attract more travelers from these regions.
The influencers, who are part of TANKE, a Paris-based creative influencer marketing agency, were introduced to the media by Uganda’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA). Their visit is expected to amplify Uganda’s tourism profile through engaging social media content, blogs, and videos showcasing the country’s beauty and adventure opportunities.
A Strategic Tourism Initiative
TANKE specializes in high-impact influencer marketing campaigns, leveraging authentic storytelling to connect with global audiences. Their expertise will ensure Uganda’s unique attractions reach millions of potential travelers in French and Spanish-speaking countries.
At a press briefing held at MOFA, Uganda’s Ambassador to France, Doreen Ruth Amule, emphasized the significance of this collaboration. “Uganda, The Pearl of Africa, is brimming with natural beauty, diverse wildlife, and rich culture. This collaboration with French and Spanish influencers will allow us to share these experiences with the world, helping to expand Uganda’s recognition as a must-visit destination,” she stated.
The tour is a joint effort between MOFA, the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB), and Uganda’s Embassy in France. This initiative aims to position Uganda as a top travel destination for French and Spanish-speaking travelers by showcasing its diverse tourism offerings.
Experiencing Uganda’s Wonders
The influencers will visit some of Uganda’s most iconic tourist sites, including:
- Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – Renowned for gorilla trekking.
- Queen Elizabeth National Park – Offering thrilling safaris and breathtaking landscapes.
- The Nile River – A hub for adventure activities like white-water rafting.
Additionally, the influencers will engage with local communities, explore Uganda’s rich cultural heritage, and savor authentic Ugandan cuisine. Their content will highlight the country’s diverse offerings, encouraging more travelers to discover Uganda’s unique experiences.
Among the influencers in attendance at the media briefing were Ertan Anadol (Team Lead), Henry Mallaury, India Romeuf, Lucas Cyril Samuel, Jolivet Kilian Nicolas, Labesse Lola Marie Suzanne, Radet Jonathan George Adrien, Nanche Augustin Claudius Daniel, Caballero Navarrete Sara, and Guillen Brinceno Juan Carlos.
Promoting Uganda’s Tourism Potential
Bagiire Vincent Waiswa, Permanent Secretary at MOFA, reiterated the wealth of opportunities Uganda offers. “From our favorable climate to our diverse cultures and the warmth of our people, Uganda is ready to welcome the world. This familiarization trip is a critical step in showcasing Uganda’s incredible tourism potential, particularly in the French and Spanish-speaking markets.”
Lilly Ajarova, CEO of the Uganda Tourism Board, echoed this sentiment, stating, “We are thrilled to host these skilled media influencers in Uganda. Their presence will not only enhance Uganda’s visibility but also position us as a premier travel destination in the French and Spanish-speaking markets. This collaboration highlights our dedication to broadening Uganda’s global presence and showcasing its unique beauty to a wider audience.”
Margaret Kafeero, Head of Public Diplomacy, emphasized the strategic importance of this visit. She noted that working with international influencers would play a crucial role in elevating Uganda’s image on the global tourism stage. She expressed optimism that this initiative would spark further creative engagements within Uganda, particularly among the youth, while fostering long-term relationships to promote the country’s tourism and cultural heritage.
